Amherst, Massachusetts, United States
I am currently a junior studying psychology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I am expected to graduate in the spring of 2015. I am working towards a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, with a minor in education. I am also interested in business and have taken classes in marketing and economics.
One of my greatest passions is to work with people. I am out-going, friendly, open-minded, and always enjoy meeting new people. I love to learn about others and work well with all types of personalities.
I aspire to do work that is both motivating and inspirational to others in any occupational setting. My experiences as a camp counselor and babysitter is what sparked my interest in being a strong leader and role model to my peers. In addition, I have had a lot of experience with customer service working for Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack. Working in retail has taught me a lot about the importance of building strong relationships with customers in order to improve sales. All of my work experiences have inspired me to want to understand people and the way they think. I believe that understanding your target audience is the best way to make inspiring work.
Aside from work, I enjoy being involved in my community at Umass Amherst. I am a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. My current position as sisterhood chair requires me to work with the membership board to help plan events and come up with creative ideas to strengthen the bond of our chapter. I also enjoy doing philanthropic work. For example, I participated in a service learning course in multicultural education, which involved tutoring children in Holyoke MA.
When I have some free time, I am usually at the gym with my friends, watching a movie with my roommates, or out getting coffee. Lots and lots of coffee.
