Ashley Tin

Hi, I’m Ashley. I’m a student living in Queens, New York. I currently attend John Bowne High School and I'm a senior. The former, present, and future me are very different. The former me aspired to be a teacher. I dreamt of teaching little kids, bossing them around, and giving them stickers. When I was younger, I was very immature and said/ did irrational things. I used to judge people a lot, I used to always think “first impression, last impression.” But throughout the years, that changed, I try to understand people first without judging them. I try to understand where they are coming from. I want to be a psychologist now. I want to be able to read people and understand why they act the way they do. The human mind has always been an intriguing topic for me. I want to be my own boss, open a firm, and be a psychologist. Before I decided that, I wanted to be a lawyer, just like my uncle. He protects people and decides who he wants to defend. I found interest in doing that because I like standing up for people who don't have a voice and protecting them when they're accused of doing something they didn't do, especially when they're innocent. But I thought about the whole process of it, and I don't think it's right for me. I took a criminal justice class during the summer to see what it's like and it was interesting, but there was a lot to remember and it didn't feel like it was for me. I’ve always wanted to be in a business and work for someone, but in my past job, I realized that I can not live like that and I hate being trolled around. In the future, I hope to see myself being successful and making a good amount of money. I want to live a stable life and be able to provide for myself and my family, I don't want money to be an issue for me. One thing that hasn’t changed from the past to now, is that my likings are still the same. I love to travel and I love food. I also love binge-watching shows, especially when I'm sad and don't feel like talking to people. I find comfort in shows since most of the shows I watch, I can relate to. My favorite shows are One Tree Hill and Brooklyn 99. In the past eight years, I have been to Ecuador twice and the Dominican Republic. I absolutely loved my experience, I loved trying new foods, going sightseeing, and seeing their culture. In the future, I want to travel the world. I want to go to Hawaii, Aruba, Arabia, France, Germany, Africa, Spain, and Greece I also love seeing new places and watching sunsets and sunrises.
