Asif Kapadia is an Academy Award, four-time BAFTA, Grammy, and European Film Award-winning director known for crafting intimate portraits through archival footage, letting his subjects tell their own stories through their actions, music, and movement. His acclaimed documentary trilogy—SENNA, AMY, and DIEGO MARADONA—brought cinematic scale to personal narratives. Born in Hackney, London, Kapadia studied at the Royal College of Art before making his BAFTA-winning debut THE WARRIOR. His recent works include FEDERER and 2073, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival.
