Joan enjoys exploring new business ideas in her spare time and likes attending social events where she meets new people. She participates in weekend food markets under the brand Little Chef Mac N’ Cheese, a concept that was created together with her son and daughter in one of their Sunday dinners.

Joan studied civil engineering and hotel and restaurant management in University of San Carlos, the biggest university in Cebu. She started her career in 2006 with Shangri-La, Mactan and got her F&B OPERATIONS certification in BEIJING. By 2010, Joan became the service manager under the hotel’s F&B PROMOTIONS & MARKETING team.

She strengthened her marketing skills when she became SM City’s Marketing Manager in 2011, one of the chain of malls under SM Prime Holdings and the country’s biggest mall brand. Today, Joan is the Manager for Pillows Hotel since its launching in 2014, a business hotel located at the heart of Cebu City. It is one of the top 10 Cebu hotels rated in Trip Advisor. With her experience in the service and marketing industries, Joan consults and assists the board of budding hotels and malls for their pre-operational strategies.

A bright and experienced young marketing professional, Joan is always equipped with innovative ideas. She’s highly passionate for learning new things which always puts her on the forefront of new business trends. She believes in managing her time well. She makes sure that there is room for new learning, helping out the service industry and teaching her kids that hard work is always coupled with fun weekends.
