My father always told me, “Today is your canvas, capture a beautiful picture.” My photographs are a reflection of who I am. I am from a small town with a big family – a loving family that has taught me about life, love, support, and to never give up. As I grow as a photographer, my photographs are a reflection of the lessons I have learned form my family.
When I make a portrait I see the strength in my model that inspires me to capture the innocence or determination of my subject. This is a way for me to understand people around me; it is an expression of what I see through my lens. Photography has become a part of me that I explain with the exposure in a fraction of a second.
