I am a candidate for the next Seanad Éireann elections on the Trinity panel (Medicine 1984). I am the Professor of Health Systems, in the School of Nursing and Human Sciences, in DCU. I also chair the board of the Irish Blood Transfusion Service, and serve on the Higher Education Authority.
I worked in the School of Publc Health in UCD from 1997 to 2007. Before that I worked in Imperial College, and the Universty of Leeds. My clinical training was in Paediatrics in Dublin, and Public health in Yorkshire.
