My dream has always been to work in the entertainment industry. My inspiration came from a trip to San Diego in 2008. I remember walking through downtown at night and seeing the NBC building's neon sign glowing in the dark. I told my cousin Jay, "That's the kind of place where I want to work. I want to be professional. I want to be a part of something that is creative and recognized. I want to be a part of something great." He told me, "work hard for it and you will make it." Ever since that moment, a fire inside me was lit.

After I graduated in 2009 with my BA in History, I realized that in order for me to reach my goal of working in entertainment, I would have to extend my education. Thus, I enrolled for a post-grad Marketing Management program at Sheridan College the following year. In 8 months I learned more about how the "real world" works and what I would have to do to be successful professionally, than I had in 4 years from my BA. However, the strategic planning, research, and communication skills I developed as a History Major translated well into my development as a 21st Century Marketer.

In May 2011, I gained professional experience at none other than Universal Music Group- the leading company in the music industry. For the next 4 months, I worked with their Central Region Radio Promotions team, and was involved in the promotion of artist singles during the busy summer season. I gained invaluable experience working with an outstanding team of creative, highly intelligent, hard-working, and dedicated individuals. It was inspiring to work somewhere that encouraged freedom of expression, and valued employee input and feedback, all the while executing company marketing strategies and achieving set goals.

As a person, I have always been ambitious, and never been one to "settle." I set high goals for myself, and I strive to achieve them. My goal now is to work as a Marketer within the Entertainment Industry, and there is no doubt in my mind that I will achieve it. I'm drawn to the industry's creative energy and unlimited talent, the fast pace and momentum, and its ability to adapt to the technology of the times. It's a tough business to break into, whether it be in music, movies, or even videogames; however with enough ambition, determination, passion, and drive, it's not impossible. I have not only been dreaming to work in entertainment, but preparing myself as well, and I am confident that my big break is right around the corn
