An experienced public policy expert, Marie Altagrace Astride Nazaire holds both a bachelor’s in economics from the Faculty of Law and Economic Sciences in Port au Prince, Haiti, and a master’s in public affairs from Indiana University at Bloomington. Over the course of her career, she has continued her training and education by regularly attending seminars and completing postgraduate courses. Astride Nazaire’s areas of professional expertise include education, sustainable development, international migration, climate change, external debt crisis issues, women's rights, and the global fight against HIV/AIDS.
Marie Altagrace Astride Nazaire has served as Haiti’s ambassador to the United Nations since 2005. As a minister counselor on permanent mission at the UN headquarters in New York City, she is involved in all daily aspects of international macroeconomic policy development. Ms. Nazaire has also developed strategic partnerships between key public and private sector entities and crafted a range of statements and presentations to advocate for a broad spectrum of humanitarian and environmental initiatives.
