Audrey Goldsmith Valdez

Professional Genealogist, Legal Services, and Technology in The United States

Thanks for stopping by. I’m Audrey, a Professional Genealogist living in the United States. I am of Scandinavian, Eastern European, and Southern Italian descent, but have additional experience in completing successful genealogy projects for those of Latin American, European, Ashkenazi, Sephardic, and African descent. I have over 20 years of experience using archival research and DNA testing to help adoptees uncover their lineage as well as trace individuals for legal situations.

My path to professional genealogy is a bit unique. I began in the early days of the Internet as a child shortly after the birth of Ancestry.com. Corresponding with people around the world using genealogical message boards while building my tree and searching for my grandfather's biological mother, I connected with one of my long-lost cousins and and located my biological great-grandmother.

As a proponent of cutting-edge technology, I have acquired a deep knowledge of genetic genealogy and the science behind it. With an undergraduate degree in Communication Studies and Mandarin Chinese and experience working in IT and in a foreign embassy, I am passionate about researching, presenting, and communicating potentially life-changing information to those who seek it. After receiving a postgraduate diploma in Brussels, Belgium, I provide legal editing services to the United Nations Volunteers organization and on a freelance basis for projects such as Child Rights Connect. I am currently working in the legal field and especially enjoy working with family reunification programs and refugee resettlement. In my spare time, I am pursuing my pilot's license.

You can send me information about your project using the form below, and I will get back to you to help you find the answers you seek.
