August and After are an alt-folk phenomenon, weaving vocal harmonies and thoughtful lyricism onto layers of guitar, piano, strings and brass, with a strong focus on collaboration and audience interaction. They're currently playing shows across Europe, with a residency at Ronnie Scott's through which they're premiering a new single once a month.
Their debut album, Embers, was officially released on 1st August 2013, featuring ten guest musicians, including Sophie Jamieson on ‘Waltz for Marie’, and a fan spoken word section on ‘The Jailbreak Song’. The songs vary in tone and volume, from orchestrally layered and upbeat sections to darker, more stripped down passages.
