Augustine Kumah is a health systems researcher, public health and healthcare quality improvement professional committed to improving health and care systems, patients’ safety, and health outcomes through research, synthesising evidence, translating evidence into action, and embedding the culture of best practice in healthcare.
Augustine has vast experience in research methodology and data analytics. His research interest seeks to evaluate and analyse health systems & policies and public health program implementation to address health disparities, strengthen Health and Care systems and foster sustainable evidence-based practices to improve health outcomes.
His research interests also focus on improving care quality through evidence synthesis, best practices and interventions that minimize adverse events and errors to ensure patient safety and improve the quality of care.
Augustine has contributed to multiple research studies, demonstrating proficiency in designing research protocols, collecting and analyzing data, and interpreting results. His experience in mixed methods and evaluation helps him identify and demonstrate how interventions, strengthening health systems, and policies can improve healthcare quality, patient safety, health outcomes, and well-being.
He has actively engaged in and led several healthcare quality improvement projects, community- and facility-based research, and public health programs at district, regional, and national levels.
He has published and contributed to knowledge via several research outputs, research articles, and publications, some within Q1 Journals and/or prestigious knowledge outlets (SAGE, Frontiers, Elsevier, BMJ, PubMed, Web of Science, etc.).
