My journey so far:
Journalist & magazine editor → civil servant → communications consultant → non-profit advocate → restaurateur/hospitality professional.
I became a journalist out of a belief that journalism was a form of education and great journalism is able to transform societies and nations. I then became a civil servant in order to help shape public policy and programs in the arts, which I love dearly. My wife and I started our own integrated communications agency in order to help lifestyle companies and especially new Singaporean start-ups reach new audiences locally, regionally and globally. In 2013, I took a break from the agency in order to work full-time in the charity sector, applying my skills and experiences to growing giving in Singapore. Most recently, I have started a new challenge, taking the reigns of an established Singapore-based F&B company with the mandate to restructure it, scale existing businesses, and grow new ones.
