My approach to education was significantly informed by employment in medical research at the Baker Medical Research Institute, Victorian College of Pharmacy and Monash University. In research, every day is underpinned by a sense of exploration, learning and relearning.

Before entering education I learned the power of global collaboration by managing an import-export business.

I now have gained considerable (15yrs +) experience in a number of different educational settings, including the museum environment working as an education officer and in customer engagement.

The last few years of my teaching were at a dedicated Year 9 campus at an all-boys college. This was a challenging but extremely rewarding time, especially while trying to wrap up an M.Ed journey. However, working with all boys was a joy.

Strong professional interests in thinking pedagogies suitable for digital learning environments motivated me to complete a Master of Education in Knowledge Networks and Digital Innovation. I developed particular interests in design thinking and the design of learning spaces.

I view design thinking as a powerful pedagogical framework highly relevant for digital learning environments. In this context I view teachers as designers.

2018 was spent in the employment of NoTosh working on design thinking projects with educators and architects.

I now consult for Graccon Learning Solutions, based in Melbourne. Graccon is a provider of customised learning solutions to Australian education and training organisations including schools, TAFEs and RTOs as well as small to medium enterprises.

My personal interests range from photography to fitness and time permitting, astronomy.

I need to find more time for my camera. ;-)
