In the past, she worked as an Associate Producer & Researcher for C-SPAN's Senior Executive Producer & Political Editor Steve Scully for CSPAN's Distance Learning Class, an education-based program.
Because Austen works in the fast-paced world of live news, she is comfortable under pressure and meeting tight deadlines. Austen's favorite stories to produce are human interest pieces that tell a story of a unique individual or community. Austen is interested in production opportunities outside of the news world-- an avid traveler and someone who is not afraid of being thrown into diverse or foreign situations, Austen is flexible, innovative and resourceful and never turns down a new experience or opportunity.
When Austen is not working she loves eating all the chocolate she can get her hands on and spending time with her three dogs. Austen has a passion for the outdoors and loves hiking, biking, camping, running and skiing.
