Austin Horak is a freshman finance major at the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University. He is expected to graduate in May 2018 and hopes to also graduate with a concentration in Real Estate.
Austin was raised in the town of El Paso, Texas, where he grew up working on his family's ranch. In his high school years, he distinguished himself as a leader and role model in the FFA. He also mentored many young scouts as he earned his Eagle award in the Boy Scouts of America. At the age of 17 he purchased, remodeled, and rented his first investment property. At the age of 18 he acquired his second property and plans to expand his business. In his first college semester he pledged Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity, and was elected as brotherhood chair (social) hosting many events for hundreds of people. Through involvement in this fraternity he has volunteered with the Ronald McDonald foundation and the Lubbock Animal Refuge.
