Austin Morelock’s career has developed through a mix of early outside experience, family business involvement, and growing leadership responsibilities at Calvary Industries. He has worked with the Ohio-based company for more than 13 years and became CEO and President in 2021. In 2025, he led the family-owned business through a dividend recapitalization with Mason Wells while continuing in his executive role. Mason Wells is a Midwest-based private equity firm that has raised $2.4 billion in aggregate across five independent buyout funds.

Founded in 1983 by Austin’s father, John Morelock, Jr., Calvary Industries is a chemical manufacturing company focused on blended process chemicals. The company formulates and produces industrial cleaners, conversion coatings, metalworking fluids, and waste treatment chemistries. It also blends, packages, and processes customer-owned products in accordance with client specifications. Materials are shipped in containers ranging from one-gallon containers to bulk tank trucks, helping the company meet different customer and production requirements.

Calvary Industries is headquartered in Fairfield, Ohio, and also operates a manufacturing facility in Pineville, Louisiana. The Company also uses third-party distribution locations in California and Mexico. Calvary Industries has about 150 non-union employees. Its customer base includes many industries, such as appliance, architectural, automotive, contract manufacturing, food and beverage, general industry, heavy equipment, HVAC, metal fabrication, metalworking, military defense, paper and pulp, and pretreatment.

Before taking on senior leadership responsibilities, Austin built experience in different business settings. After graduating from university, he worked for Groupon in Chicago. He later joined Calvary Industries as an outside chemical sales representative in Dallas, Texas, where he worked for a couple of years. He then moved back to Cincinnati, where he was born and raised, and served as Director of Sales and Marketing. His path through the company eventually led to his role as CEO and President.

In 2025, the Morelock family and Calvary senior management team invested alongside Mason Wells as part of the company’s partnership with the private equity firm. Austin said Calvary had spent a lot of time getting to know Mason Wells and was impressed by the firm’s professionals, especially the cultural fit with Calvary. He described the company as being at an inflection point and said the team was pleased to bring in a firm that invests in people, partners with management, and has industry resources to support Calvary’s growth.

Mason Wells considered Calvary Industries a strong strategic fit because of its established market position, commitment to developing technical solutions, and consistent record of profitable growth. The partnership was created to support and accelerate Calvary’s continued expansion while maintaining the company’s high service level and collaborative approach.

In 2019, Austin was named to the “Products Finishing 40 Under 40.” This annual recognition honors emerging leaders under 40 who are making a meaningful impact in the surface finishing and manufacturing industries. It highlights professionals who show leadership, innovation, and commitment to advancing their field.
