Austin Rutherford

I am a 17-year-old guitarist from Derby studying at Confetti College in Nottingham on a level 3 Music Performance and Songwriting course.

In February 2026 I released my first EP. This EP was submitted through my Muse Remixed account that can be found in my linktree and the release included EDM remixes of the Muse songs Starlight and Resistance.

I am currently in Fuse (a Muse Tribute band) and the Indie Rock band Noise.notts. I have previously been in the Alternative Rock band The Crossover however we ended up splitting up. I have played gigs in Nottinghamshire over at venues such as Rough Trade, Metronome, The Chapel and Billy Bootleggers. I have even played at Ilkeston for the Glow Music and Art Festival.

I started playing guitar when I was 10 and I am mainly self-taught. I listen to a lot of bands in the genre of rock but I mainly play in the genre of Alternative Rock.

I am looking to get a fulltime career in the music industry ideally writing and performing original songs in an Alternative Rock band.

I take heavy inspiration from the band Muse and I incorporate a lot of Matt Bellamy's techniques and play style into my own.

My guitar is a custom Manson MBM-2 with a Sustainiac pickup and built in fuzz factory. I capture my tone with my DigiTech Whammy, MXR Prime Distortion and Boss BF3 Flanger.
