Hello, I’m Avel. I’m an artist living in Brescia, Italia. I am a tribal bellydancer and I create unique ornaments for people who likes unconventional decorations and jewels in my little atelier.

Why do I do headpieces?

I' m a huge fan of artistic headdresses; when I saw Satine's Indian one in Moulin Rouge my heart melted. Every time I see those stunning decoration on the head of beautiful women in fantasy or historical series on tv and movies I can't believe someone could create such an amazing piece of art. I love all the vintage and historical pictures I find in the web with gorgeous headdresses and save them into my inspirational file.

My dance teacher sometimes tells me that a professional dancer should always think to have a crown on her head, that helps keeping the right posture during the show. If you have a crown every part of your body changes its place; shoulders, back and head lines are more beautiful, more regal.

So I thought, why not wear a real one?

Since I love headdresses so much I decided to create artistic crowns to help every woman on stage to look and, above all, feel like a queen.

As women we are unique and perfect as we are. We don't need to change just to adapt ourselves to a beauty model. We should celebrate ourselves, celebrate our unique way to be feminine. My crowns are just made for this. To honor us, just as we are.

Mi chiamo Avel e sono una ballerina di Tribal Bellydance. Realizzo decori unici nel mio piccolo atelier.

Sono una grande fan di copricapi artistici; la prima volta che ho visto quello di Satine dal gusto indiano nel film Moulin Rouge ho avuto un colpo al cuore. Ogni volta che vedo uno stupendo decoro in testa a una donna credo a stento che qualcuno abbia realizzato un così bel pezzo d'arte.

Ogni tanto la mia insegnante di danza mi rammenta di quanto sia importante per una ballerina immaginare di avere una corona in testa per avere la postura corretta, più regale.

Così ho pensato, perché non provare a realizzare delle corone artistiche per aiutare le donne sul palco a sembrare e, perché no, sentirsi delle regine?

Come donne siamo uniche e perfette così come siamo. Non abbiamo bisogno di cambiare per uniformarci ad un ideale di bellezza. Dovremmo imparare a celebrare il nostro unico modo di essere femminili.

Le mie corone sono create per questo motivo. Onorarci, così come siamo.
