Avya Ramprasad
Student in Michigan
Greetings, I’m Avya . I’m a student living in Michigan. I am a fan of music, food, and dance. I’m also interested in reading and cooking. I love to help New English Learners and kids in ESL in grades K-12 with their Reading and English skills. I like to not only dance, but also choreograph dance for a club at my school, however, this is usually a challenging feat as I have to teach others in the process. It can be very stressful to work with my other choreographers and students, but in the end, there is a always a huge sense of accomplishment. Truthfully, in general, I enjoy challenging myself and I'm always looking for a different answer. This is explains what I want to do in the future as my profession, which is to be a restaurant consultant that helps the people preparing the food understand how to properly prepare food for people with dietary restrictions. I hope to be able to expand to other restaurants and even factories and I really want to educate others in these businesses and in general how to help accommodate dietary restrictions. I feel very strongly about this endeavor because I too have dietary restrictions (I'm allergic to dairy, eggs, peanuts, and tree nuts) and from a very early age I've wanted to help people so they don't experience the same things I do everyday. My passions in school, which are mainly science and communications, also explain why I'm picking this specific job in the future. I also enjoy singing and have been singing for the past 10 years, and in tenth grade, I did the musical at my school, which was a very amazing experience. I loved interacting with others and challenging myself to know all the dancing, singing, and other parts of the musical. It was very hard at some points because I had to manage school with something that could either be a 3 or 7 hour commitment every day. Overall things like, being a leader, working in groups, pushing myself in school, an helping others, have all helped me become more confident and diligent, and I will always remember the lessons I learned throughout everything.
