AVUINET VHUSENDEKAMISI
Student and Teacher in WHINCHESTER HILL
Mundalamo Avuinet Vhusendekamisi is a University of Johannesburg student who is currently doing his third year (3rd) on the Bachelor of Education (Bed) in Senior and FET Phase. He is majoring in Geography and School ICT Support. He is more interested in education, as he sees it as a foundation for bringing about change. The reasons beyond his two majors are that he likes nature, talking about political and economic activities, working with computers and technology, and learning every day; hence, he finds those majors easier and more interesting to teach and learn.
Moreover, he is one of the tutors of THUTO KE LESEDI private tutoring organisation, one of the organisations that has been bringing change and light to a lot of learners in Palmridge and surrounding local areas. He has taught various subjects there, however his main interest remain his majors. He has good working ethics, and he is punctual with his work.
He completed Artificial Intelligence in the 4IR and African Insights online courses offered by the University of Johannesburg. This also adds to his love for education, politics, and technology.
Other interesting facts about him are that he grew up in Tshitungulwane village around Vuwani township, South Africa. He grew up and went to a school that lack most resources; however, that did not stop him from developing a love for technology. He really sees education as the key to success and the leader of development. Hence, his love for ICTs began a long time ago, and he wishes to do wonders with the skills he is acquiring at his institution, starting from sharing what he knows with others (teaching), creating advanced educational tools, and working in the digital world.
His teaching philosophy is "Tell me and I forget; teach me and I remember; involve me and I learn"- Benjamin. He is a big fan of the learner-centred teaching approach, whereby learners take part in their own learning, make meaning of the lesson by themselves, and be creative on the learning road. He believes that working together is more effective, and if people can realise that and acquire the 4C’s of 21st century skills, the world will be a better place, which will lead to rapid development.
