Avuyile Sakati

Student and Hair Stylist in Johannesburg

Hi ,I’m Avuyile Sakati,a third-year Bachelor of Education student at the University of Johannesburg, majoring in Language and Neurodevelopmental Learning Needs. My heart is fully in teaching, and I’m passionate about creating spaces where every child feels seen, supported, and capable—no matter their learning style or challenges.

I believe that education goes beyond textbooks. It’s about connection, compassion, and building confidence in young minds. My goal is to be the kind of teacher who not only shares knowledge but also listens, adapts, and advocates for every learner’s growth—academically, socially, and emotionally.

What drew me to education was the chance to help children believe in themselves, especially those who’ve been made to feel like they don’t fit the mold. I want my classroom to be a place where differences are embraced and where learners feel safe to be exactly who they are.

Outside of my studies, I’m all about creativity and connection. I love reading, journaling, and spending time outdoors to recharge. One of my favorite hobbies is braiding hair—it’s a calming, creative outlet for me, and it’s also how I make a bit of extra money while studying. I braid for fellow students, and I’ve found it’s a beautiful way to connect with others and express care in a hands-on, personal way.
