This is a picture of my best friend, Elle and I in Peru. I am an adventurous person, but I am also very girly. When I signed up for a mission trip in Peru, I had no idea that this was what I was getting myself into. A main source of protein for Peruvians is guinea pigs, so I volunteered to build guinea pig breeding houses. Little did I know that for the next month of my life I would be covered in adobe mud without any running water for a shower. The work was long and brutal. My hands were covered in blisters from digging up mud or carrying adobe bricks. However, it was all worth it in the end. I will never forget the appreciative smiles of the Peruvian families for whom I helped create a better life.
