Awethu Fatyela

I am an activist with interest in social justice and gender politics. I am passionate about media and communications with a key interest in new media and information technology. I enjoy doing research and writing, both academically and in the media space. My academic pursuits and my work experiences have allowed me to do both, helping to hone my writing skills whilst staying abreast of technological advancements in the media and communications space.

During my undergraduate studies I have co-authored a book chapter and published opinion pieces for South African newspapers. I have also presented academic papers at international conferences. This has exposed me to the conferencing and exhibition environment as both an attendee and early career academic, writer, content developer, producer and social media specialist.

I am a focussed and dedicated individual who pays attention to detail and knows how to work smart, manage time, multi-task and work well in a team. I pride myself on my writing and research capabilities, proactive approach to things, my creativity and problem-solving skills.
