Aya Lowe

I am a multi-media journalist based in Manila, the Philippines currently working for Rappler.com, a social media news network.

Before moving to the Philippines, I was based in Dubai for four years working on the business desk at Gulf News, Dubai’s largest English language newspaper.

During my five years of working as a journalist, I have specialised mostly in business, lifestyle and travel writing. When writing stories, I like to mix it up by supplementing print writing with online blogging, multi-media reporting and photographic contributions.

Needless to say, I like travelling with notepad and camera in hand. Having grown up an expatriate in several countries and travelled extensively in between, I have an intimate knowledge of certain areas of the world namely Australia, Hong Kong, Egypt, UK, Belgium, the UAE and now the Philippines. I also like languages particularly French, Arabic and German.

When I’m not writing and taking photographs you’ll find me trying to learn Filipino or jumping on a plane/bus/boat/jeepney to explore a new destination.
