"What I've Done" By Linkin Park

In this farewell
There's no blood
There's no alibi
'Cause I've drawn regret
From the truth
Of a thousand lies

So let mercy come
And wash away
What I've done

I'll face myself
To cross out what i've become
Erase myself
And let go of what i've done

Put to rest
What you thought of me
While I clean this slate
With the hands of uncertainty

For what I've done
I start again
And whatever pain may come
Today this ends
I'm forgiving what I've done!!!

What I've done
Forgiving what I've done

Dear Reader,

I hate myself. I hate all I've done, all I've
become, and all I have brought into this world. There is no one to blame but
myself for my own misfortune and failures.
You seek for knowledge and wisdom, as I once did; and I ardently hope
that the gratification of your wishes may not be a serpent to sting you, as
mine has been. Oh curse you monster! I had promise; my intelligence knew no
bounds, as science just came easy to me. But I had to delve further and further
into the aspect of something only god should have access to. Learn from me, if
not by my precepts, at least by my example, how dangerous is the acquirement of
knowledge and how much happier that man is who believes his native town to be
the world, than he who aspires to become greater than his nature will
allow. I was a young, innocent, hopeful
boy who turned into a jaded, vindictive, vengeful man. Driven by a desire for
knowledge and an overwhelming need to defy nature. My one crime was only obsession
that overstepped the bounds of science in being the creator of a being that
never should have lived. Because of me my wife is gone. My friend is gone. My
brother is gone. Soon I shall be gone as well. I should have been the one that
was never created. Henry should have never nursed me back to life; scarlet
should have taken me all those years ago, not my mother. Before I shall leave I
must clean up my mess, I must destroy my hideous and dangerous creation. For I
am the cause of him. He and I must be eradicated.

Forever cursed,

Victor Frankenstein
