An exceptional student and talented legal assistant, Aziza Kendrick is currently pursuing a graduate degree at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. She appeared on the dean’s list from 2008 to 2010 and was recently awarded an Accounting Society Scholarship. Aziza Kendrick is earning a dual-concentration MBA in Accounting and Management Information Systems, and expects to graduate in late 2012. Ms. Kendrick is a member of the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) and the American Institute of Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA). In addition to studying, Aziza Kendrick has worked as a legal assistant for several years. In 2003, she accepted a position with Gina G. Palmer, Attorney at Law, a firm specializing in employment and labor law. During her two-year tenure with the firm, Aziza Kendrick conducted legal research, managed correspondence, and attended depositions. In 2005, Ms. Kendrick went on to accept a position as a Legal Assistant at Shepherd Smith Edwards & Kantas, LLP, which has represented clients through the several regulatory agencies, such as the New York Stock Exchange and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. For the past two years, Aziza Kendrick has volunteered with the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program, an IRS-funded initiative offering free help with tax return preparation. This Thanksgiving, she will be volunteering with the Greater Houston Meals on Wheels program during their holiday deliveries. The program, sponsored by Interfaith Ministries, provides a complimentary holiday dinner to homebound seniors. A surfing enthusiast, Aziza Kendrick is also an active traveler who enjoys attending Broadway plays.
