Hi, my name is Brittney Kaye and I am a huge foodie. Throughout my life, my parents exposed me to trying exotic foods and flavor combinations. Whenever we would travel on family vacations, my parents would center our trips on fine dining. The first time I attended a fancy restaurant with my parents was at the age of seven. My parents took me to a five star restaurant, located in Atlanta, named Seeger’s. Although I was too young to remember the entire experience, there are a few memories that I have from that night. While my family was waiting to be seated, we were given popped sorghum with sea salt and clover. During this time, the head chef, Seeger, came out and greeted us. Once we were seated, the waiter brought us our amuse-bouche, a small complimentary appetizer. To this day, I still remember this amuse-bouche perfectly. The amuse-bouche was an egg, with the top perfectly sliced off. Inside was a runny egg yolk mixed crème fraiche, sorghum, and a small amount of sea salt. Although I do not remember the rest of this night, I know that this experience was the start of my love for food. After my experience with Seeger’s, my parents began to take me to five star restaurants when we traveled. During our trip to Maine, my family and I went to a restaurant called the White Barn Inn. Next, we ate at the Georgia Room in Sea Island. Finally, my family took a trip to California where we ate at one of the best restaurants in the United States, the French Laundry. All of these restaurants have provided me with unique cultural experiences. In the future, I hope to travel around the world to experience different foods and cultures that the world has to offer.
