So, you are thinking of renovating your bathroom remodeling or toilet. What could be simpler, you say: you came to the store, chose a tile, a bath, a toilet, a sink, faucets, hired a builder, and - wait, rejoice when everything is ready. However, there are some nuances of bathroom design that should be thought out before starting all work, or more precisely, even before starting to purchase all the necessary materials.

Cutting bathroom tiles

Before buying bathroom tiles, you need to measure the room in advance, think over the placement of plumbing equipment, decide on your preferences in style, direction, color scheme, and based on the available data, start choosing it.

It is imperative to perform a competent tile layout, and not on the walls, but on paper - that is, in the drawings. Now such a service is provided by almost any salon specializing in the sale of tiles: do not be too lazy to use it, it is often free. Of course, provided that you buy the selected materials in this salon.

If, as they say, you are your own designer, then paper and pencil will help you. Think over, draw, calculate how to choose the right tiles.

Why do we need calculations?

So that when laying the tiles on the visible sections of the walls, they look "whole". If you are installing large tiles, this is rarely possible. If we are talking about standard tiles, there should be no pieces less than five to eight centimeters (depending on the tile format: the smaller the tile, the less the allowable cutting) on well-visible sections of the walls.

That's what a plan is for. Think about the different options for laying tiles for the bathroom remodeling: which corner is better to start, which corner is most visible, and in which it will not be so noticeable.

For example, the interior in the photo is an absolutely correct decision of the designer to “hide” the cropping into the inner corner: closer to the outer part of the partition, the cropping would be striking.

If possible, look for tiles of the most suitable format (fortunately, now any manufacturer offers various options within the same collection), in order to eliminate trimming altogether.

Use creative styling techniques. Sometimes you can start from the center of the wall or floor, then only slightly trimmed tiles will come to the corners, which in no way catches the eye and does not spoil the conceived concept.
