Roslynn Baatjies

I am a lecturer at the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Cape Town campus. I teach the subject Epidemiology at second and third year level.

I have a BSc and MTech in Environmental Health from CPUT and a Masters degree in Public Health from Wits. My PhD emanated from research activities in occupational allergy and asthma in the Centre of Occupational and Environmental Health Research in the School of Public Health and Family Medicine at UCT.I completed my PhD in 2013. My thesis characterises occupational risk factors for baker’s allergy and asthma going on to demonstrate the positive impact of targeted interventions in reducing flour dust allergens in bakeries, thereby contributing towards preventative strategies for protecting baker’s lung health.
