Bacterial Vaginosis
Consultant, Teacher, and Writer in United States
Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is caused by an overgrowth of bacteria in the vagina. It can lead to unpleasant symptoms and complications, such as vaginal discharge and pain during sex. BV can be difficult to diagnose and does not always show symptoms. This makes it hard to know if you have it. The only way to know for sure is with a test from your doctor or gynecologist.
