Being a full-time student, I always try to find ways to relax from a long day of classes. One of my favorite ways to do so is to explore the area. I grew up in Athens, so I have an increased knowledge of the city than a non-native would. Pictured is my most recent expedition to the Pulaski Tracks, a graffitied bridge hidden underneath a set of rail road tracks. If you were to trek further down the tracks, you would come across a lone wooden swing that looks out over newly built college homes. There are many other places in Athens I like to explore and adventure to, such as Redneck Beach, the Mill, and the rail road near Mama's Boy. But I never go without a friend beside me. As a rule, I never tell them where we're going, I just wait until we're there to see the surprise in their face and the realization that there are so many things in Athens that have yet to be discovered. They always say the same thing: "I never knew this was here." Exploring Athens is my favorite past time, a cathartic way to forget about my life inside the UGA campus, and to make my hometown seem new again every day.
