The fact that I live in a desert but have as the background to this page a photograph of a salt marsh should tell you quite a bit about my personality. I am something of a mess of contraditions. I love history but am also a tech gadget geek. I was born in South Carolina but grew up part time in Southern California. I was supposed to get a degree in history and teach school but ended up becoming a surgical nurse. Years later I left that and worked with antiques.
In 2006 I learned that some long standing health issues came from a failing liver. On January 28, 2007 I received a transplant at the Medical University of South Carolina.
I now live in Tucson, AZ with my husband Michael and our beautiful dogs, Snow and Tuffy where I write a moderately successful food blog called Sugar Pies.
