Gina Tan, co-founder of Baking with Gina, a passionate Singapore home-based baker started baking as a hobby in 2016. She spent most of her time in her kitchen, self-learning and experimenting with online recipes, tutorials, and book recipes. During the journey of making progress, she often loves sharing her bakes with family and friends to garner valuable feedback. The family especially her 3 sons are always her biggest fans. Her bakes, both sweet and savoury are documented on her Instagram page (@bakingwithgina). Signature bakes include freshly baked cookies, artisanal bread, pineapple tarts, and cakes.
Gina began to discover the excitement of bread making using wild yeast as it's known to be healthier and nutritious. In 2019 Gina started cultivating her own wild yeast using organic apples, water, flour and named it Annie. Thankfully, she got to meet a few experienced home-bakers who are willing to share insightful information and tips. Her artisanal sourdough bread-making journey has since evolved until now.
With her knowledge and experience, Gina developed myriad fun and easy-to-use recipes and share them with the community. Her hubby, Ethan has been the most encouraging and spontaneous towards her passion. Eventually, Ethan took the leap of faith and join hands with Gina to build this humble home-based business together.
