In April 2013, I was elected International Secretary of the Democratic Party Committee Abroad, one of five international officers responsible for running a "state party" within the Democratic Party of the United States. Democrats Abroad has members in over 190 countries and committees in more than 50 countries around the world.

I helped organize the part-time faculty at a large community college, served as president of the resulting union, and negotiated the establishment and implementation of our first contract. I also served on the board for our federation's PAC and a local teachers' PAC.

I have eight years of teaching experience at various levels in higher-education. I am no longer editing a full draft of my doctoral dissertation. My last publication was in 1997, but I have made many conference and workshop presentations in the past fifteen years.
