Brian Ballard is the president of Ballard Partners, a Florida-based firm that specializes in public affairs and the affairs of the government. Ballard and the rest of the team at Ballard partners have copious amounts of experience in government. Before founding Ballard Partners, Brian was the managing partner at Smith and Ballard. Prior to that, he was the managing shareholder for Bryant Miller Olive, PA.
Ballard has a strong connection to the University of Florida. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University. He then went on to earn his law degree from the school as well. He has also been inducted into the University of Florida's Hall of Fame.
In addition, Brian has extensive political connections in the state of Florida. Ballard served as the Chief of Staff for Florida governor Bob Martinez in the late 1980s. Together with his wife, Ballard was co-chair of the Inaugural Committee for Governor Charlie Crist in 2007. As co-chairs, the Ballards planned the Inauguration events for the governor and lieutenant governor. They also served as finance co-chairs for the Inaugural Committee of Governor Rick Scott.
In addition to his work with inaugural events, Brian Ballard has a commitment to the environment of Florida. He worked as the chief negotiator with the US Department of the Interior in an attempt to put an end to offshore drilling along the coast and in the Keys. He also played a key role with Preservation 2000, a program that protected sensitive lands through public acquisition.
Brian Ballard's work with the government has expanded beyond Florida. In 2008, he worked with the McCain campaign as the National Finance Co-Chair and the Florida Co-Chair. He also worked as the McCain Victory Florida Finance Committee Chair and National Finance Co-Chair for the Republican National Committee. As of 2012, he was named Finance Co-Chair for the Mitt Romney campaign in Florida. He also serves as a member of the National Leadership Campaign for the Romney campaign.
Brian Ballard is also a committed family man. He and his wife Kathryn reside in the state's capitol city. The couple has three daughters together.
