I work on interesting questions relating to Paleoenvironments, such as causation for the woolly mammoth extinction event some 12,900 years ago. Pollen, macrofossils, charcoal, diatoms, geochemistry and other proxies enable us to reconstruct past environments.

Here I am experiencing the boreal forest near Thunder Bay with my lab assistant and co-adventurer Karoline Mikolajewski. I've got a cup of Tim Horton's coffee, my camera, and swimming gear. Life is good.
