Bambang Azhar is a Year 3 student currently pursuing a diploma in Sustainable Urban Design and Engineering (Architecture) in Ngee Ann Polytechnic and aspires to be an architect. His interests includes technology, developments in sustainable technologies, world issues, the gaming industry, nature, the built environment, and most definitely, architecture.

Since young, Bambang has always been intrigued in creating new things and has a knack for aesthetics. He picked up drawing at a very young age and is known to his peers and teachers as being creative and full of ideas and solutions. Also at a young age, he expressed his creativity through building a plethora creations through Legos, and creating new things from scraps and spare parts from toys and tinkering with electronic parts.

He knew then he would love to find a job pertaining to design. As he matured, he widened his horizons and explored new ways to express his creativity and began tinkering with 3D softwares like Sketchup. He also learnt to became more mindful about the people around him and since then he was keen to contribute to society by volunteering in community involvement programmes organised by his schools and beyond. It then struck him that architecture was his calling as it melds both his love for creation and design, and his love for contributing to the society.

Bambang's designs are heavily influenced by the likes of Frank Lloyd Wright's stacked masonry, Zaha Hadid's neo-futuristic forms and flowing lines, Sou Fujimoto's use of Natural light and volume, Mies' spectacularly modern cantilevers, and modern Balinese architecture with it's fusion of modern and traditional Balinese architecture, and its symbiosis with nature.

When he isn't feverishly meeting his deadlines, Bambang would spend most of his time gaming, or reading up about the world around him or immerse himself in fictional universes through literature, movies, or games. Video games are a huge part of his life so much so that he has gotten design inspirations from the architecture of the alien worlds found in the games he immerses himself in.

He firmly believes in continual learning and that a new day is a new opportunity for to achieve more than the day before but only if we try.
