First name: BAND, second name: NI, last name: CAT with a letter C. BAND NI CAT is the stage name and passion project of the very handsome producer, guitarist, and singer-songwriter, Catherina Santos. Originally conceived in 2021 as an imaginary band made up of clones of herself, BAND NI CAT continues to make the queer music she wishes to hear by writing funky, nostalgic, and at times, unserious songs about the sapphic urge to yearn and the coming-of-age experience. Her next EP, Diary Ng Pogi, arrives this 2025.

To BAND NI CAT, two feelings are most fulfilling. One is to learn when others have embraced her music as reflective of their own experiences. Her heart goes out to those who consider January not only a month, but a song, understand what it’s like to Want Her To Know, and ask themselves, “Anova???” She genuinely hopes you are all doing okay.

The other great feeling is to arrive at a gig and shake the hand of the butch lesbian responsible for inviting her. She is honored to treasure memories of playing for Women’s Month and Pride Month celebrations, intimate gigs for young organizations, and various caravan events for UST Tiger Radio.

In her producerly ventures, she works with other artists like Salome and Ino Moon. BAND NI CAT’s music has also underscored short indie films such as Dir. Kenn Villaret’s Tinginand Loyola Film Circle’s Dear You.
