Dr. Baohua Ji is current the professor in biomechanics and applied mechanics of Beijing Institute of Technology. He got his B.S and Ph.D degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University of China in 1993 and 1998, respectively. He did his postdoc research at Institute of Mechanics of Chinese Academy of Science during 1998-2001, and at Max-Planck Institute for Metal Research during 2001-2004. In 2004, he joined the faculty of Department of Engineering Mechanics of Tsinghua University. In 2008, he moved to the Department of Applied Mechanics of Beijing Institute of Technology. Dr. Ji has received several awards including Max-Planck Institute Fellowship, and the Outstanding Young Scientist Award of the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics. In 2010, he received the NSFC Distinguished Young Scholars Award.
The research fields of Dr. Ji include cellular and molecular biomechanics, and mechanics of hierarchical biological materials/ systems.
