Interesting Student, explorer, and Project Manager in Ife, Nigeria
Tiamiyu , Barakat Bidemi, is an idealist , a risk takers, and a true African. She is 20 year old, a BSc. student of Urban and Regional Planning at Obafemi Awolowo University. Her passion is drawn around environmental sustainability and youths development, by building bridges between the environmental sector and youth.
The turning out point of her exploration started, at a four square room Internet office, she worked as a computer operator when she was 17. She was exposed to so technology and media, which enabled her to explore potentials and seek development.
In 2015, she founded her Initiative called. 'House of Babiti'. Which was later described as 'Building sustainable Bridges among youths and the environment'. She have organized Campus events, in two Nigerian universities and different colleges. She has directly influence over 50 students and indirect over 600 students. To take productive actions and take charge.
She is a one time Green Personality of the month of the Green Campus Initiative, after she organized the First Green seminar at Kaduna State University. She is a member of World Youth Alliance, African Student for Liberty, United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth(s), Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and belonging to other networks.
She served as the Project Assistant for Connected Development in Osun State. Tracking funds meant for the Saving One Million Lives in Osun State. She is a community reporter for Follow the Money. She is a certified Citizen journalists from the Aileen Getty School of Citizen Journalism and Yala Academy.
Currently, Barakat is a United Bank for Africa Campus Ambassador at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. She is a skilled bead maker, hair making, netting, nerd tech.
She wants to be an international diplomat, traveling round the world to make positive impact, she believes in shared identity, an identity that reflect and can accept everyone. As well as her career in Urban Planning.
