Barbara Garcia started her career in 1984 as an Executive Director at Salud Para La Gente Health Center in California. She was responsible for a rural health center that provides primary and behavioral health care to over 10,000 farmworker families.
Barbara Garcia has more than 30 years of experience in Health Care. She is also hosting a podcast called HealthCare Untold and focusing on diverse health care leaders.
She also worked as Deputy Director of Health and Director of Health at Department of Public Health, City and County of San Francisco.
Barbara Garcia also worked as a Director of Community Substance Abuse Services and was responsible for $50 million of citywide brokered treatment programs and over 50 employees.
She completes her Bachelors of Science, Community Studies Education in 1984 from the University of California, Santa Cruz, California. She also completed her Master’s in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco, California.
Barbara Garcia then completed Doctor of Philosophy (honorary), Transformative Leadership and Community Service from California Institute of Integral Studies, San Francisco, California in 2008.
She also becomes a Doctor of Philosophy (honorary), Community Health Care Services Leader from the University of San Francisco, California in 2013.
