Barbara Price

Introducing Barbara Smith Price Human Resources Trainer/Developer, Conflict Mediator, Diversity Manager Public Speaker Barbara Smith Price is currently enrolled in a PhD program at Walden University specializing in Leadership and Organizational change. She received a Master’s of Science with a specialization in Human Resources Management from Trinity University, Washington, DC in May 2010. Trinity University is also where she received her BS in 2008 with a Major in Human Resources and minor in Communications, she graduated cum laude, was on the Dean’s list for at least four semesters, and was the winner of the 2006 American Association of University Women’s, McLean Branch, academic achievement award and scholarship. As a special recognition of her dedication to the communications field, she was inducted into Lambda Pi Eta, which is the National Honor Society for communications. . Barbara is a demonstrated achiever with exceptional knowledge of human resources laws and regulations, business practices, and employee development. She was most recently employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs for over seven years where she was responsible for monitoring and oversight of the development programs including the Senior Executive Development program, New Leader Development and Further Leader training. Barbara also served as agency coordinator for various leadership programs run by the USDA Graduate School. In these capacities, Barbara helped organize many training conferences and served as a presenter for many training sessions. While employed for Veterans Affairs Barbara also served as training coordinator for the Human Resources Office. Barbara is an accomplished public speaker having served as guest speaker for several programs in the Washington DC area including the “Compensated Work Therapy” graduation at The Veterans Affairs Medical Center and for the American Association of University Women’s, McLean Branch annual awards ceremony for two years. Recently Barbara has been requested by the Dean for the School of Professional Studies to record a video to be featured on their web site. Barbara has strong research and writing skills; works well under pressure and shows a continued thirst for knowledge. Barbara believes in helping organizations develop to their highest potential by utilizing “Emotional Intelligence” as the core value of it operations.
