Barbara Techel

It is my deep love of animals and the amazing lessons I’ve learned from them that encourage and inspire me to listen to my inner voice, and live a more meaningful life with integrity, intent, and joy.

As an author, animal advocate, SoulCollage® Facilitator, and founder of Joyful Paws, LLC and National Walk ‘N Roll Dog Day I encourage and inspire others to pause, listen and capture what it is that matters most to them.

Some of my most profound teachings have come from my Dachshund, Frankie who lived life to the fullest in a dog wheelchair due to paralysis from intevertebral disc disease (IVDD).

She was my inspiration for both my children’s books, Frankie the Walk ‘N Roll Dogand Frankie the Walk ‘N Roll Therapy Dog Visits Libby’s House. My journey with her so rewarding and positively life changing, that I published my memoir in 2013, Through Frankie’s Eyes: One woman’s journey to her authentic self, and the dog on wheels who led the way.

Joyful Paws represents so much of what animals have taught me, and continue to teach me. It is my hope that by sharing the innate wisdom I’ve gained from them, I can encourage others to live their own truth for a richer, more meaningful life filled with joy.

MISSION:

To encourage and inspire others to pause often, listen deeply, and embrace the wisdom of our animal friends to live a more meaningful life.

My all-time favorite quote:

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud

was more painful than the risk to let it blossom.
