I am a Texan, born and bread and I love the Longhorns...I don't apologize for this to anyone who likes another team. This is after all my blog and all about me!
I am a military spouse and step-mother....where I use that word for accuracy, but anyone who knows The Princess, knows she is absolutely MY daughter. My husband will confess, she is just like me-so we are proof that blood doesn't have to be shared for a mother/daughter bond to be fierce.
I have worked since I was 11 and raised with a strict foundation on being financially independent and strong-minded. The financial part immediately clicked, the strong-minded part took a little while, but I sure make up for it now! I do not have a superiority complex, but I feel sure that if more people did things my way, the world would be better-especially after a few glasses of wine!
Back to military spouse...married since 2006 and with a multitude of PCSs and deployments under my belt, I empathize with all military spouses...and we don't have to be a female military spouse to struggle or succeed. We do all need each other in some fashion; I hope my experiences can help or offer some laughter.
Professionally, I have been in the "helping others" field since 1994. I have so many stories about hiring, firing and just plain WTF scenarios that I could write a book....but for now I'll just blog. Strictest confidentiality of course!
I do not profess to be any literary great, in fact, my grammatically correct perfectionist of a spouse will likely cringe at some of my word usage, misspellings or just plain bad grammar....to that I say, "tough, write your own blog."
I love to laugh and make others laugh. I don't cry often and I hope this will open up a door where I have become somewhat closed off emotionally. I have a temper, but generated typically in my insane sense to protect and make right the wrong-doings of others. Mostly, this is for me and those who love me and wonder what the hell I was thinking.....well, this may tell you.
Grab a glass of wine and enjoy life with me-it's been one hell of a ride so far!
