In 2014, I earned my BA in English from Covenant College where I lived on The Fritz for four years. I had the joy of being their RA for two years and learned a lot about people and leadership. From there I moved to Hickory, NC to pursue a Masters in Teaching from Lenoir-Rhyne University. During this time, I student taught at Hickory High School with Ms. Cameron Grace. After completing my time at HHS and my degree at L-R, I knew that I wanted to stay in Hickory. This led to my current position at Hickory Career Arts and Magnet where I teach freshmen ELA.
Outside of school, I love to read. I'm a huge Harry Potter nerd, but I also enjoy classics, historical fiction, and mysteries. This summer I've enjoyed reading Les Miserables, East of Eden, and Creativity Inc.
Other hobbies include cooking, baking, and crafts of all sorts but especially sewing. My mother taught me to sew when I was young and I enjoy making my own skirts and dresses when I have free time. Vintage dressing, specifically 50's style, tends to be my inspiration.
