Barnaby Sheridan

Currently Senior Partner of Nearshore Operations with Velocity Partners, Barnaby Sheridan has over three decades of experience as a technical manager and systems developer. Prior to joining the workforce, Barnaby Sheridan earned his BA in Pharmacology and Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1980 and his MS in Management with duel concentrations in Management Information Systems (MIS) and Marketing from MIT’s Sloan School of Management in 1982.

After taking preliminary manufacturing engineering positions with the Hughes Aircraft Company in Santa Barbara, California, and the FMC Corporation in San Jose, California, Barnaby Sheridan held a series of management positions with Kenan Systems in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He then relocated to the greater Portland, Oregon, area in 1990 to accept an IS Manager, Desktop Support, and Office Applications post with Sequent Computer Systems.

Sequent subsequently promoted Mr. Sheridan to the positions of Staff Consultant, Senior IS Manager and, finally, Professional Services Principal Consultant. Barnaby Sheridan left Sequent in 1999 to join the team of software developers at Portland’s ProDX. As ProDX’s Senior Technical Architect, he was responsible for developing high-level application, software, and database architectures.

Outside of the office, Barnaby Sheridan is a yoga enthusiast, an avid cook, an amateur piano player and a dedicated bicyclist who participated in the Cycle Oregon rides of 1997 and 1999. He also volunteers with a number of local charity and community outreach groups, including Rebuilding Together Portland and Friends of Trees, an Oregon organization that has planted over 450,000 trees throughout the Portland/Vancouver and Eugene/Springfield metropolitan areas.
