Daniel Barnwell

Having finished school in 2008, I subsequently spent two years dragging myself through a Commerce degree I had very little interest in. It reached a point of pure frustration, and despite the prospect of a reasonably secure job either in Ireland (at the time) or abroad (now more realistic), I decided it wasn't for me.

I have spent the last four years working in fashion retail, and although I have enjoyed it, I was always intent on getting a degree. I believe education is extremely important, along with pursuing a career in something you love.

Two years ago I took to third level education once again in the form of a four year, part time course - BA in Journalism - in Dublin Business School. I've always enjoyed writing, so it made sense to go for Journalism.

I have a lot of general interests, so I wouldn't label myself as destined for any specific area of the media just yet. Thankfully there is still some time to figure it out.
