Hey there, I’m Barret. I’m a teacher living in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. I am originally from New Brunswick. Where I grew up on a farm and started my first career as a carpenter.

I did my Bachelor of Arts at St. Thomas University - in Humanities/History, Psychology and Criminology. I attained my education certificate in the USA.

I started teaching in 2008 in London, England. This is where I met my wife, who is also a teacher. Our journey then took us to other teaching opportunities in Qatar and China.

We have been living in Sault Ste. Marie since 2015. This is when we had a life changing experience. My wife gave birth to triplet boys. At this moment we realized that our dream of teaching Internationally for the rest of our lives was over. So we settled down in the Soo.

I am currently teaching Construction & Exploring Technologies.

I am taking this course for two reasons. First, growing up I learned a lot about life by working on a farm. I am very interested in developing a curriculum around agriculture, as I think it would be beneficial for students. Second, I want to eventually take my Tech Specialist and this is the only other course that really interested me.
