Barry Dahl is now retired, effective August 1, 2025.
He lives in Daytona Beach, plays tennis in New Smyrna Beach, and drinks beer in Ormond Beach. If the city has the word Beach in its name, there's a decent chance that you'll find him there.
He previously served as the Vice President of Technology and Lake Superior Connect e-Campus at Lake Superior College (LSC) in Duluth, MN.
When LSC decided they had done enough with online learning, his job evaporated and he worked as an independent contractor and consultant with a focus on e-Learning or educational technology. That work primarily consisted of speaking engagements, conference planning and hosting, e-Learning quality improvement projects, strategic planning for e-Learning growth and e-Services development, student surveys related to satisfaction and engagement, as well as on-campus and online workshops.
In 2012 he took a job at D2L, the makers of Brightspace (and he always hated that name). He started at D2L as the Sr. Community Manager and finished his 13-year career there as the D2L Teaching & Learning Advocate.
