Basetsana Mokhonoana
Student in Johannesburg
My name is Basetsana Mokhonoana, a third-year Bachelor of Education student at the University of Johannesburg. My journey into the world of teaching began early- ever since I was in Grade 2, I’ve known that teaching was my true calling—something I’ve been deeply passionate about from a young age. I believe that education has the power to transform lives. I want every learner I teach to feel seen, supported, and inspired to grow, not just academically, but as individuals. Beyond the classroom, my personal life philosophy is simple but powerful: we live and we learn. I believe that no one is perfect, and that every experience—good or bad—is an opportunity to grow, reflect, and become better. Mistakes are part of life, and I try to approach every challenge with patience, openness, and a willingness to learn. Outside of my studies, I love bowling, reading, and sewing—activities that help me relax, express myself, and stay grounded.
